1. Introduction
Our website, https://nbm4.com (and its staging mirror https://v2.nbm4.com), uses browser localStorage and optional cookies (collectively referred to as “cookies and local storage”) to remember your visual preferences, store your privacy choices, and — only when you explicitly opt in — measure aggregate site usage.
2. How NBM4 Categorizes Cookies & Local Storage
- Strictly Necessary (Functional): Required to remember your selected color theme, typography style, and cookie consent decision. These keys are stored locally in your browser, contain no personal identifiers, are never transmitted to third parties, and do not require prior opt-in under GDPR / ePrivacy rules.
- Analytics & Statistics (Opt-In Required): Help us understand which framework chapters and research articles are most useful. Analytics scripts remain blocked until you explicitly enable the Analytics & Statistics category or click Accept All.
- Third-Party Media & Marketing (Opt-In Required): Used only when loading embedded external media (such as video players or slide decks) or campaign attribution parameters. Blocked by default until you opt in.
3. Complete Storage & Cookie Inventory

nbm4_cookie_consent_v1 | Strictly Necessary | localStorage | 12 months | Records your granular cookie consent choices (necessary, analytics, marketing), policy version (v2.0.0), and timestamp. |
nbm4_web_theme | Strictly Necessary | localStorage | Persistent | Stores your chosen color palette and Light/Dark mode (for example nbm4-light). |
nbm4_design_style | Strictly Necessary | localStorage | Persistent | Stores your selected typography and layout aesthetic (for example nbm4-ui). |
nbm4_appearance_defaults | Strictly Necessary | localStorage | Persistent | Version flag ensuring default visual theme initialization on first visit. |

4. Managing or Withdrawing Your Consent
You can inspect, change, or withdraw your consent at any time with immediate effect by clicking the Manage Cookie Preferences button at the top of this page or the Cookie Settings link in the website footer. When you withdraw Analytics consent, any existing _ga cookies are deleted from your browser.
